About Us

Two markets. One corridor. Twenty-five years of relationships.

Most companies entering Vietnam arrive with a market report and a list of names. Six months later they are still waiting on a meeting that was promised in the first week.

We know this because we have watched it happen — and because we have been on the other side of that table.

Tradelytics exists to shorten that distance. We are a Canadian company, headquartered in Markham, Ontario, built as a joint venture between Dataservices Canada, Dataservices Vietnam, and PetroSouth, working with a partner network across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Toronto, and Calgary.

What we actually are

Tradelytics is not a marketplace that signed up suppliers through a form. It is the accumulated supply base of a team that has spent twenty-five years working inside Vietnam's energy industry — the vendors we qualified, the fabrication yards we audited, the service companies we hired when a platform needed a part and the schedule did not move.

When we introduce a supplier, we are not forwarding a listing. We are telling you what happened the last time we used them.

That distinction matters most when something goes wrong. A directory gives you a phone number. A relationship gives you someone who answers it on a Sunday.

What we do:

  • Market entry for Canadian firms — qualification, positioning, and the procurement mechanics of state-owned enterprises, where the bid is won long before the tender is published
  • Sourcing and supplier qualification — verified vendors across energy, oil and gas, power, and industrial services in Vietnam and the wider region
  • Trade and commercial advisory — pricing, contracting, local content requirements, and the realities of moving goods and money between the two markets
  • Capability development — leadership and commercial training for technical teams, drawn from operations rather than textbooks

The corridor

Canada is a two-trillion-dollar economy with world-class capability in energy technology, engineering services, environmental technology, agri-food, and data infrastructure — and a persistent problem finding its way into Asian supply chains.

Vietnam is among the fastest-growing economies on earth, anchored inside ASEAN, a bloc of roughly 700 million people and one of the most dynamic trading regions in the world. It is hungry for exactly what Canada is good at, and comprehensively difficult for outsiders to enter.

The gap between those two facts is not a market gap. It is a trust gap. Capital, product, and technology cross borders easily. Credibility does not.

That is the only thing we sell.

Leadership

Tu Nguyen (Turner) — Founder & Managing Director

Twenty-five years in energy operations across Vietnam and Canada. Petroleum engineer by training, businessman by choice. He spent two decades directing operations for major energy providers, founded six companies, and led 72 digital transformation initiatives — including work on the Ruby Platform in the Bien Dong basin, offshore Vietnam.

He has sat across the table from the C-suite at PetroVietnam, Vietsovpetro, and Binh Son Refining. He has won tenders worth over a million dollars and lost deals he should have won. In his own words, the difference was rarely the product or the price.

Today he advises Vietnamese energy leaders on commercial capability and digital transformation, and lectures at technical universities in both countries.

"Digital transformation and market entry require more than software and strategy. They demand an understanding of how a crew on a rig actually operates, and how a state-owned enterprise evaluates risk."

Our partners

Dataservices Canada — data infrastructure and analytics capability, Canadian-side delivery.

Dataservices Vietnam — in-country technical team, local engineering and implementation.

PetroSouth — cross-border business development along the Canada–Vietnam energy corridor.

Plus a working network of suppliers, fabricators, logistics providers, and advisors built over two and a half decades — not recruited, earned.

How we work

We only introduce what we would use. If we have not worked with a supplier, or cannot verify them through someone who has, we say so.

We tell you what will not work. Most advisors are paid to be encouraging. A deal that fails in month eight costs far more than a hard conversation in week one.

We are accountable on both sides. A Canadian entity in Ontario and a Vietnamese team on the ground — one relationship, two jurisdictions, no hand-off where the responsibility disappears.

Talk to us

If you are a Canadian company looking at Vietnam, or a Vietnamese operator looking for Canadian capability, start with a conversation. We will tell you quickly whether there is something real here.

Twenty-five years taught us one thing worth repeating: in this corridor, nobody buys from a company. They buy from a person they have decided to trust, and then the company gets the purchase order.
