Quang Tri Province Approves Adjustments for Wind Power Projects Worth Nearly $140 Million

The provincial authorities of Quang Tri have sanctioned revisions to the investment plans and investors for the TNC Quang Tri 1 and 2 wind power plants, which together will have a capacity of 100 MW. The total investment capital for these projects has been increased to over VND3.63 trillion ($139.97 million).

TNC Quang Tri 1 Wind Power JSC will oversee the TNC Quang Tri 1 project, which is expected to produce approximately 128.48 million kWh of electricity annually, utilizing around 32.5 hectares of land. The revised investment for this project is VND1.81 trillion ($69.77 million).

Similarly, the TNC Quang Tri 2 Wind Power Joint Stock Company will manage the TNC Quang Tri 2 project, which aims to generate 128.83 million kWh of electricity each year. This project also spans 32.5 hectares and has an adjusted investment of VND1.821 trillion ($70.2 million).

Both projects have undergone several adjustments since their initial approvals in 2020, including changes to land use and investment amounts. The provincial Inspectorate noted some shortcomings in the investor selection process but confirmed that the projects align with the Power Development Plan VIII.
